Best College To Attend In New Jersey

Best College To Attend In New Jersey?
What is the Conservatory of Music college to attend in this area? Ive been looking at New Jersey City University.

Answer 1 :
Arguably the best college in New Jersey is "The College of New Jersey" in Ewing. I went to Rutgers and was very happy. But if you are looking for a conservatory, check out Westminster College of the Arts, http://www.rider.edu/284.htm it's part of Rider University and located in Princeton, NJ. It has a very excellent music program. edit: I stand corrected, as I was not clear in my explaination, that TCNJ is arguably the best public college in NJ (the assumption that an affordable school would be preferred is based on the askers suggestion of NJCU).
Answer 2 :
While The College of New Jersey is a very good school, I wouldn't call it the best college in New Jersey. Princeton U gives you the best undergraduate education in the whole US, possibly the world.
Answer 3 :
Princeton, one of the best universities in the world.
Answer 4 :
Mason Gross School of the Arts is part of Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Westminster Choir College is part of Rider University and is located in Princeton. William Paterson University has an excellent music department and it is located in Wayne.

I'm so confused! What school should I go to: Rutgers or the Honors Program at The College of New Jersey

I'm so confused! What school should I go to: Rutgers or the Honors Program at The College of New Jersey?
I already made my deposit into Rutgers University, but I just found out today that I was accepted into the Honors Program at TCNJ and I am having second thoughts. I did not get into Rutgers Honors. Should I make a deposit into TCNJ Honors? Which school is more nationally recognized for strong academics? HELP!!! I need to stop going back and forth and make a decision! By the way, I'm planning on being a business major. Also, I feel that I would be more comfortable in TCNJ's smaller environment. I'm kind of scared to be living on and studying in Rutger's HUGE campus.

Answer 1 :
If you want to do the Honors program, but can only get it at one of the schools, then go to that school and do the honors program. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
Answer 2 :
From experience: the honors program doesn't really help you out in the job market. You've already made your deposit to Rutgers, go excel at classes there! Be in the top 3% of your class (that will be more impressive than taking the more difficult classes and perhaps scoring somewhere in the middle).
Answer 3 :
i think TCNJ is more recognized, but rutgers is also good. i kno rutgers brunswick is a good school to party, but i don really know about TCNJ. if you are all about wokring hard, then you should go to TCNJ since you said it has the Honors Program. just listen to your heart and fallow your gut.... hope i helped, im having the same problem too except mine is deciding which country to go to lol well good luck
Answer 4 :
I would go with Rutgers. TCNJ is nopt well known outside of NJ. It used to be Trenton State College, but changed its name to sound nicer. Rutgers has more programs accademically, which means you can try a lot of things out while you are there. Also, you can get into the Rutgers honors program if you get a 3.5 GPA after one year. Rutgers is known nationally. It has a great football team and womens basketball. If you went to california, theyd know Rutgers. The only reason to go to TCNJ over Rutgers is if you want a smaller environment. The class sizes a a little smaller, and the administration cares a little more. But if you want recognition, which it seems like you do, its better to be academically successful in an ocean at Rutgers than to be the big fish in the small pond of TCNJ. Even so, Rutgers is broken up into smaller divisions, so you always see your friends around campus. It FEELS like a small college at Rutgers even though you know there are thousands of students. Finally, out of experience, I have a friend who graduated TCNJ last year, with a degree in marketing, and is working at Borders as a cashier. I have a friend who graduated Rutgers last year, with accounting, who had a job offer the end of her Junior year. Go to Rutgers. Do well there. Get into the honors program your sophmore year if it means that much to you. (Your resume and transcript will have honors program on it even if you didn't join until senior year) Good luck, and e-mail me with any other questions.
Answer 5 :
TCNJ by far. 1)It's a more selective school 2) Honors programs pull more weight if you want to go to grad school.
Answer 6 :
The honors program will give you priority scheduling, which proves useful. Since you have made your deposit, go to Rutgers and then try transferring at the end of your freshman year.
