Are full time New Jersey college students exempt from jury duty?
I am currently a full time college student. My jury duty falls right in the beginning of the spring semester. Am I excused from jury duty?

Answer 1 :
NO. You'll still have to go and you can explain that you have school and they may excuse you, but they probably won't. Just tell them you have a problem with cops or with lawyers and they'll excuse you.
Answer 2 :
You have to show up at the courthouse and tell the court clerk your situation. She will advise the judge and it is up to him to excuse you. It's possible you'll have to spend several hours.
Answer 3 :
Government jobs and School are exemptions from jury duty in some states... you may want to call and find out.
Answer 4 :
Usually they have you fill out a form which states that you are afull-time student. They may ask for proof, like an offical schedule, but generally, no you do not have to appear.
Answer 5 :
no
Answer 6 :
I'm not sure about New Jersey, but in Connecticut, it is possible to fill out a form when you get your jury duty notice that, in effect, enables you to postpone and possibly even set up a period of time when you could serve. For example summer time, spring break, or between semesters break in January.
Answer 7 :
No.
