if i go to a community college in new jersey can i transfer to a university in another state

if i go to a community college in new jersey can i transfer to a university in another state?
i'm going to a community college in new jersey right now. after i finish my 2 years can i transfer out to a 4 year college to get my BA in another state like florida or california? or can i only use those credits in a college in new jersey?

It depends on the schools and classes you take. I studied in Florida and had some credits transfer to my new school, University of Phoenix.

What actually "transfers" is credits, not courses or degrees. Since you are transferring credits from a college in one state to a college in another, there will probably be some loss of credits. Colleges get really particular about transferring credits, since they always believe that "their" course is much better than the one you got credit for by taking it elsewhere, but as long as both schools carry regional accreditation, the loss should be minimal. It might be possible for you to find out what will transfer and what won't by contacting the admissions department of any college you are serious about, speaking with an admissions officer or adviser, and if necessary, sending them a copy of your transcript to evaluate.
