What college is the best (in New Jersey)

What college is the best (in New Jersey)?
I was looking into Rutgers and Farleigh Dickinson. Is there any other colleges in New Jersey that I should look into? Here is a little about me: I am apart of my schools National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Theater program, I get A's and B's, I am also in AP Art, and lastly I have done plenty of community service. My PSAT Scores where 1500 out of 1800 for sophomore year. I do not exactly know what major i want to do though. no Princeton. lol

For U.S. colleges in NJ: http://www.utexas.edu/world/univ/state/#NJ This consumer site may have posts by former students about the colleges in which you're interested: http://www.studentsreview.com and can type into search and then click "comments", if there are any. (The "red square" posts are the negative ones.) Regarding which major to choose, Farrah Gray, young male multimillionaire and author of "Reallioniare", suggests asking oneself this question about a career path, "What would I do for years and years to come and not have to get paid?" For general career information: http://www.bls.gov/oco and can type into search whatever career that piques one's interest.

Look at The College of New Jersey. It's dedicated to providing a great undergraduate education. It's relatively small and harder to get into than Rutgers. On the other hand, if you are into diversity and all of the resources and opportunities of a LARGE research university, Rutgers is great. Depending on your major, Montclair might be good. My son goes there and is getting an excellent education in the arts, *but* Montclair is run by the gang that can't shoot straight. It's administration has screwed him on everything from housing, to admission (forgot to tell him that he got in, until he got an invitation to the admitted students open house), to academics (changed credit requirements for his major half way through) etc. Another look sees "Theater Program." Montclair has a truly outstanding theater program, woth all the crap. p.s. With those SAT scores, try to think bigger. There a tons of outstanding school within a 3 hour drive from NJ.

Transfer from Middlesex County College New Jersey to City College San Francisco to UC Berkeley

Transfer from Middlesex County College New Jersey to City College San Francisco to UC Berkeley?
I am currently enrolled in Middlesex County College in New Jersey. By the end of August I plan to have completed about 40 credits under an A.A. Liberal Arts/Business Option designed for transfer. My completed classes will have included at least: Philosophy Pre Calculus English I & II Western Civilization Public Speaking Psychology Sociology Biology Financial Accounting Micro and Macro Economics Physical Education all with at least a grade of B or higher. My GPA currently stands at a 3.5 and I aim to have it higher by fall. In addition, I've completed 4 years of honorable service in the U.S. Marine Corps. My questions are as follows: Would I still have to take a placement test? Which, if any, of my completed classes are transferable (I can send a transcript if necessary)? Are there any ways I can bypass the out-of-state tuition fees in less than a year? If it is possible for me to transfer into City College, then ideally I would like to transfer out of City College to UC Berkeley Haas School of Business as a junior by Fall '11. In your opinion, do you think this is a feasible plan? Any response would help out...thanks a lot!

The UC system is pretty impacted. It depends on what you want to study. I doubt you'll be able to transfer right away. There's a waiting list for even the smaller schools. As far as I know you can't bypass out of state fees for up to 5 years after you move here. There may be ways if you are disabled or a war refugee or something. Other than that you should ask them. Some people I know have enrolled for a semester in a smaller UC school and then transferred to UCB. That may have changed too. A lot of the regulations are changing because of the budget problems. Some schools aren't allowing students to enter in the spring semester. it may be easier to get in if you go during the summer semester. It's usually far less crowded and you are already a continuing student in the fall. Mainly you should sign up for anything that's open just so you have a class and be considered an continuing student.
